Charles Harris LAZENBY. Flight Lieutenant, Pilot Instructor 66589, Royal Air Force. Central Flying School, stationed at RAF Little Rissington, Gloucestershire. Born 28 January 1922 died 28 July 1954 aged 32. He was flying instructor in a Meteor T.7 WL374 (flown by Fl Lt, Pilot R Bennett) along with another two-man Meteor T.7. The two Meteors were flying in close formation at about 1,000 feet when they collided during a formation change, 2 miles south of RAF Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire Neither crew were able to escape in the height and time available.
