MORTIMER Charles Gordon. Lieutenant, Royal Field Artillery, attached 24th Anti-Aircraft Battery, died 21st October 1916, aged 26 years. The son of Charles White Mortimer and Mrs. Mortimer. Cadet of the Royal Military College, Canada, Barrister at Law, Canadian Bar. Born in Los Angeles, U.S.A. His father was H.B.M. Consul in Los Angeles.

Charles Gordon Mortimer, barrister-at-law and soldier, was born in 1890 in Los Angeles and died on 21 October 1916 in action at Malta. He was educated at Trinity College School in Port Hope, Ontario, and later at the Royal Military College in Kingston, Ontario. After completing his law studies at Osgoode Hall Law School, he was called to the bar on 22 May 1914. His plan to practise law in British Columbia was interrupted when war was declared. He became a lieutenant in the Royal Field Artillery.
