Bell 47D-1 / H-13D Sioux

This helicopter introduced the "goldfish bowl" molded canopy and an openwork tail boom. As a MedEvac helicopter, with stretcher pods mounted on the skids, the H-13D became the mainstay of the MASH (mobile army surgical hospital) units during the Korean War. It accomplished 80% of the 25,000 helicopter evacuations in Korea. The H-13D was popularized by the hit television show M*A*S*H.
