Anthony Robert WARDELL. Flying Officer 4038405 Royal Air Force. of Central Flying School, stationed at RAF Little Rissington, Gloucestershire. Born 17 January 1931 died 9 March 1955 aged 24. He was crew along with Flt Sgt David John Cooper flying in a Meteor T.7 WH200 over Broadwell Airfield when the aircraft went into a spin during an instructional sortie of asymmetric (Single engine) flying after the air brakes were left out. The plane spun into the ground killing both crew members.
