Some notes from both of her service records.
1st Service Record TFNS
She was called 12 August 1914. On the 29 April 1915 she and many other nurses and military personnel were sent to London Port to join ship, Media which was booked by H.M.Goverment. On the 01 May 1915 the ship embarked for Sydney, stopping at various locations She was posted to Egypt disembarking at Port Said.
Report of Medical Board.
She was on a Medical Board at the Q.A.I.M.N.S Hospital, 71 Vincent Square, London on the 11 June 1918 aged 32 years. Total service of 05 year. She was at that time residing at 18 Salisbury Terrace, Darlington County Durham
Place of disability, 17 Stationary Hospital, Bombay, India.
She went to Egypt January 1915, thence to Mesopotamia January 1916, afterward doing duty on a Hospital Ship in the Persian Gulf until November 1916, then at various Hills Stations in India. She had an attack of fever in November 1917. She had blood test an no parasite found in blood, her heart action irregular with breathlessness.
Findings and recommendations.
Her condition is attributed to service in India and Mesopotamia E.F. (Expeditionary Force.) It is recommended two months leave and to return to England for six months and she is unfit for duty on board the Hospital Ship and not fit for further service in a very hot climate.
She was transferred into the QAIMNSR as Sister 2/Res F/370 on her posting to India from Egypt on Hospital Glenart Castle on January 1916. She served at 17 Stationary Hospital, Bombay and various Hill Stations (which were remote towns such as Darjeeling, Pachmarhi, Matheran, Shimla, the list goes on.)
She fell ill in March 16 with a fever. This complaint did not completely clear up. February 1917 she fell ill with a fever and was admitted (location not given.) On the 16 March 1917 she was transferred to Cumballa War Hospital, Bombay on the 20 March 1917 transferred to Coloba War Hospital, Bombay.
28 March 1917 she was discharged tor duty and recommended for leave at Mahabaleshwar, after leave return to duty in April for duty at 17 Stationary Hospital, Bombay.
19 February 1918 she was invalided from Bombay on ship Maheno, disembarking at Avonmouth, Gloucestershire 20 April 1918. Prior to leaving her last post she was granted leave until 10 October 1918. On leaving India she reverts back to TFNS.
She reported for permanent duty on 26 October 1918 at 3rd London General Hospital. Wandsworth from 17 Stationary Hospital, Bombay.
She died as a patient in her hospital on the 10 November 1918. Her last address was given at 07 St Martins Place, South Cliff, Scarborough, Yorkshire.
