Albert Henry SLAMAKER.(Alias, Albert Henry NEWMAN). Acting Bombardier RMA6285 Royal Marine Artillery on HMS Triumph. Born 21st April 1878 in Reading, Berkshire to William George Slamaker and Sarah Ann nee Newman. Enlisted 28th September 1896 as Albert Henry Newman. Died on the 29th April 1909 aged 31 of disease of ear mastoid abscess and septic pneumonia. His widow (Florence Ethel nee Stockley who he married December 1905 in Portsmouth) was informed of his death 1st May 1909. His memorial was erected by the Captain, Officers and Ship's Company as a token of respect. At rest in Plot B Grave 172, Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta
