A crew of a Lancaster Bomber III ED990 of 156 Squadron, RAF which took off at 1949, 6 Sept 1943 from RAF Warboys Huntingdonshire (now Cambridgeshire) detailed to bomb Munich, Germany. The bomber was brought down 7 September 1943 and crashed at Ober Haching about 8 miles south of Munich. All perished at the scene. They were laid to by Germans in the local cemetery. They were all removed later by Americans to Reutti Cemetery, near Ulm.
