- 1.27.03 William PICKFORD, Private 9615, 1st Lancashire Fusiliers, Born at Blackley, near Elland, Yorkshire to William, husband of Kate. He enlisted 14 March 1901 civilian occupation, labourer. Drowned at Mellieha Bay, Malta 4 May 1905 aged 26 years and 7 months. His widow was granted a gratuity 26 June 1905 revised 5 July 1905. Memorial erected by the Officers, N.C. O’s and Men of F Company, 1st Lancashire Fusiliers.
