Iranian "Axis of Resistance"

Or, more aptly, the tentacles of the Iranian Octopus.
Maybe time to organize all of the Iranian proxy conflicts into one thread? While Israel is a major focus of Iran, they have a more expansive vision of "Greater Persia".

At some point, I imagine, there will be a thread on a direct conflict with Iran.

OK, that is the NY Post. Get a grain of salt on the ready line. OTOH, the Post has been right about some truly crazy stuff in the past.

Even a broken squirrel can find a blind acorn twice a day? Dunno.

Ding ding, round 2!

Interesting to read about the the US tipping off Iran recently about terrorist strikes pending within Iran, and now looking at having to do something relevant "in Iran" itself.

My thought would heavier strikes directly against those responsible, NOT in Iran itself unless absolutely needed. I'm starting to worry about potential Iranian strikes on US territory.

The Danish air-defense frigate Iver Huitfeldt set sail to the Suez Canal on Monday to join the coalition protecting shipping in the Red Sea, just days after an oil-products tanker was hit by a Houthi missile in the Gulf of Aden.

Iver Huitfeldt will join US-led Operation Prosperity Guardian once parliament gives final approval, expected on February 6, Denmark’s Ministry of Defense said on Monday.

France transferred a second frigate to the Red Sea region eight days ago, while Belgium is sending the frigate Louise-Marie to join a nascent European Union mission there.

On Tuesday USS Gravely shot down a cruise missile with it's Phalanx CIWS about 1,5km from the ship. This is the first known combat interception of the system.

On Wednesday a US strike preempted a drone attack and USS Carney intercepted a ballistic missile and three drones.

On Thursday the US bombed drones on the ground and intercepted one in-flight. Also destroyed was a USV carrying explosives while two ballistic missiles landed in the sea close to merchant ships.

Report: 85 targets hit......so far....

It's too bad Iran was given a week's notice to remove important people and things.
