The tracks in these kit, seem more "userfreindly" as the ones, with the rockets on the sides ;-)

Do you have any info, why they chose to use this turret on the R-35?

I'd say it had something to do with more room. I got an up close look at a regular R-35 turret at a museum in Dunkirk this past April, and there was barely room to load the main gun!

Unfortunately i have no information about using this modification of the Renault R 35 during fightings in 1940.
