The funeral has been held for a D-Day veteran Frank Bourlet who helped capture the strategically important Pegasus Bridge.

At 0020 hours on June 6, 1944, British troops in gliders landed near Pegasus Bridge, spanning the Caen Canal. The troops took the bridge and held it until they were relieved by fresh troops later that day.
