    CONSPICUOUS GALLANTRY CROSS

    Instituted in October 1993 as part of the decision to remove distinctions of rank in awards for bravery this decoration replaced the DSO for gallantry as well as the Conspicuous Gallantry Medal and the Distinguished Conduct Medal.
