    One of the last remaining prototypes of Barnes Wallis' famous "bouncing bomb" used in 617 Squadrons famous Dams raid of the 16/17th May 1943. This is at The Petwood Hotel, Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire, the hotel was used as 617s Officers Mess when they moved to RAF Woodhall Spa in early 1944.

    The bouncing bomb was a kind of bomb designed by Barnes Wallis of Vickers-Armstrong at Brooklands, Surrey. It was used in the famous Dambusters raid to attack major dams in Germany's industrial Ruhr Valley during World War II.
