I believe Portugal retired the A7 in 1999, leaving just Greece as the final active A-7 operator at that time, Greece may have retired it too by now

The Portuguese Airforce onlu uses f-16.There are talks about buying a new plane to replace the alfajet and for what i know they are speaking about the italian AMX.
bur for now the main priority is the embraer kc 390

Interesting option that of the AMX, but would they be re-powered second-hand equipment, local manufacturing under license or new equipment?

for what i read its a option because they are also made in embraer ,that is the company that will deliver the KC.we in Portugal in OGMA company are making parts for embraer..
in another words...politics

Is already in trials in some units and it will be deployed to Irak in the next rotation.
Its produced by companys united in a "single defense company".
using the latest materials and tec.
