Brazilian Naval Aviation - A-4 Skyhawk (AF-1M) modernized by Embraer Defense & Security
The main points of the Modernization Program were as follows:
Aircraft General Review (PMGA);
New radar with numerous capabilities (Elta 2032).
Radar Elta-2032
OBOGS System (On Board Oxygen Generation System), for generating oxygen from the atmosphere for the crew, without the need to supply the current oxygen bottles.
New energy generation system, with the replacement of the old generators and converters.
New radios to automatically carry out encrypted communication and data transmission via data-link.
State-of-the-art inertial system (EGI); HOTAS (Hand On Throttle and Stick), hand always on the stick; New HUD (Head Up Display);
Two 5 ”x7” tactical display, Color Multi-Function Display (CMFD).
Main computer for navigation and ballistics calculation, allowing the pilot to use armaments (bombs, machine gun and in the future the MAA-1B missile) General overhaul of engines.
