Winifred Maud BROWN. Nursing Sister VAD.

Born 1887 to Arthur Brown, M. Inst. C.E., and Caroline Brown, of "Glenthorne," 3, Lucknow Avenue, Nottingham. She embarked along with other nurses and troops bound for Egypt on Transport Ship, HMS Osmanieh which struck a mine in Alexandria harbour 31 December 1917. She was drowned aged 30. The 21 October 1919 a gratuity was granted to Ethel Carrie Brown.

At rest in Hadra War Memorial Cemetery, Alexandria, Egypt.
