William Ritchie (Billy) SAVAGE. Sergeant Royal Ulster Constabulary killed on duty 31 January 1984 aged 27 years along with Constable Thomas John Bingham (At rest in Dundonald Cemetery N.I.) while on mobile patrol in an unmarked police car by the detonation of a terrorist 1,000 lb landmine exploded under their car on the Forkhill - Newry Road around 1:35pm. Both men killed instantly with wreckage of car ending up in nearby field. 580m command wire to high ground was found. He is at rest Movilla Cemetery Newtownards County Down, Northern Ireland.
