William RAWLINSON. Ships Corporal 149506 Royal Navy on HMS Egmont. Born 22nd July 1869 at Eccles, Liverpool, enlisted 17th July 1889, occupation prior to enlistment, seaman. He died by hanging (suicide) Sunday 2nd June 1907 aged 38 His widow was informed of his death 3rd June 1907. He may have been the son of Robert and Margaret at (1871 census)) 3, Free Church Row, Liverpool. His naval record show his rank as Stoker. In 1894 he was sentenced to 20 days in H.M. Naval Prison, Bodmin for desertion. He broke out of ship and dockyard.

The UK, British Army and Navy Birth, Marriage and Death Records, 1730-1960 show his service number as 133870. No naval record was found for him with this service number. At rest in Plot B Grave 144, Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta.
