Bill Benny was diagnosed with cancer in Germany. I was in BMH Munster with him at the time. A great Guy and soccer player. He came to us from the Welsh Regt. in 1969 at Quebec Bks. Osnabruck and never rebadged D and D. His headstone is correct due to the Welsh and SWB Regts amalgamation to form RRW. He died in 1970 while we were based in St. Patricks Bks. right beside the graveyard and I've visited his grave everytime I've been back to Malta. I'll never forget him coming into my room in BMH Munster all dressed up and asking me to go with him to the Green Jackets disco in Oxford Bks. which I did and had great craic. Elmer and Denny died in Malta 1971 as the Bn. were preparing to be posted to Gillingham...the advance party were already there as I was on it.
