HUDSON William. Private, 12994, 6th Loyal North Lancashire Regiment, died of wounds 18th August 1915 at Malta from wounds received while on active service at Gallipoli. Born at Wesham and lived at Kirkham, Lancashire. He was born about 1890 to Joseph and Elizabeth. In 1911 he was living parents at 15 Dyer Street, Kirkham. He was working at a local cotton mill as a piercer. His sister Mary Alice was granted a war gratuity on the 10th February 1916.
Notes from what remains of his army records -
He joined up on the 1st September 1914 at Preston aged 23 years and 2 month, occupation spinner (cotton) His next of kin was his sister, Mrs Mary Alice Willacey of 9 Moor Street, Kirksham. He was posted on the 15th June 1915 to the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force. He received a gun shot wound to a shoulder while on active service and died of his wounds on the 18th November 1915 in Malta. There is no record of which hospital he died in.

HICKS Hector Richard. Private, 21788, 8th Australian Infantry. Died of his wounds 20th August 1915, aged 18 years The son of Thomas Henry and Ellen Hicks, born in Carag Carag, Victoria, Australia.

POOLE Alfred Thomas. Sergeant, 151, 1st Australian Light Horse. Died of his wounds, 20th August 1915, aged 21 years. The son of the late Lydia Poole and Alfred Thomas Poole, of Nelsons Plains, New South Wales.
