- Sir William Henry THORNTON. KCMG died 27th January 1859,aged 74 in Valletta, Malta. Officer of Arms. For thirty six Auditor General and twenty six years a member of the Council of Government in this island. Born 31st October 1784 at Wellington near Hereford, County of Herefordshire.

Knight Commander of the most distinguished Order of St Michael and St George deceased 27th January 1859 at the said City was proved at the Principal Registry by oath of William Thomas Thornton of the East India Offices Leadenhall Street in the City of London esquire one of the executors for Great Britain.
