Edwin Charles WHITCHER. Gunner 1768767, 32nd Light Anti Aircraft Regiment, Royal Artillery, son of William and Bessie Whitcher, and the husband of Beatrice Josephine Whitcher, of New Milton, Hampshire. Died 13th February 1942 aged 33. At rest in Pembroke Military Cemetery, Malta. P1/R3/G12

Albert HAUNCE. Fusilier 6978473, 2nd Royal Irish Fusiliers. Foster son of Eliza Jane Porter, of Enagh Caledon, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. Died 15th February 1942 aged 20. At rest in Pembroke Military Cemetery, Malta. P1/R3/G12

Additional information
15 February 1942 was one of continuous bombing of Malta by the Axis forces which started at 06.30 hours and lasted until the evening. At 17.50 hours a bomb fell on Regent Cinema, Valletta. Among the casualties were the Adjutant, Captain P Low and the Commanding A Company, Captain H Gough were both killed. Fusilier Haunce of C Company was also killed.
