Private William Henry HANCOCK No. S/295376 Army Service Corps
Died 15 March 1917 aged 31.

Son of Thomas and Elizabeth Hancock, of Yew Tree Cottage, Harvington, Evesham, Worcs.

Army record -

He enlisted 10 December 1915 posted to the army reserved and mobilised 27 February 1917 as Private S/295376, Army Service Corps. He was aged 30 and resided at 41 Princess Road, Evesham, Worcestershire, occupation, commercial clerk. He married Miss Mabel Mary Agnes Crump at Evesham 28 April 1914 and lived at Yew Tree Cottage, Harvington. He was admitted 12 March 1917 into Stationary Hospital, Claverton Down, Bath and died of Cerebro spinal meningitis 15 March 1917. He did not serve overseas. His widow was granted a war gratuity 19 July 1917.

At rest at Harvington St James the Great Churchyard, Worcestershire.

Son of Thomas and Elizabeth Hancock, of Yew Tree Cottage, Harvington, Evesham, Worcs. He died on Hospital Ship Delta at sea 10 August 1915 aged 26 from wounds received in action at Gallipoli. His father was granted a war gratuity on the 5 January 1916 revised 26 July 1919.
Commemorated at Helles Memorial, Turkey.
