B.VII.2 HAZELL William. Private, 9248, 9th Lancashire Fusiliers, died of wounds 31st August 1915 in Malta from injuries received at Gallipoli. Native of Northampton and husband of Mary Ann. She was granted a war gratuity on the 9th February 1916 revised on the 7th August 1919. At rest in Pieta Military Cemetery, Malta.
B.VII.2 NEILSEN John William. Trooper, 9/979, Otago Mounted Rifles New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Born 23 April 1894 to Henry and Margaret Neilsen, of Youngs Road, Papakura, Auckland, New Zealand. Enlisted 25 February 1915 into the Mounted Rifles. On the 21 August 1915 he received gunshot wounds and a fractured left knee in action at Gallipoli. He was invalided to a hospital in Malta where he died of his wounds on the 3rd September 1915 aged 19 years. At rest in Pieta Military Cemetery, Malta.
B.VII.2 SLATER Edwin William. Private, 8/1838, Otago Regiment, New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Born 1 July 1877 at Wolstanton, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire to William and Catherine Slater, nee Consirdine. 1881 residing with his parents and siblings at Morris square, Wolstanton. Prior to embarking for New Zealand he resided at Union Street, Milton, Stoke On Trent, Enlisted 11 January 1915 into the Otago Regiment. He had previously served 3 years with the North Staffordshire Volunteer Regiment. On the 8 August 1915 he was wounded at Gallipoli, invalided to Malta on Hospital Ship, Glasgow 15 August 1915 admitted into a hospital in Malta on the 18th and died of his wounds 2nd September 1915. At rest in Pieta Military Cemetery, Malta.
