Born 1878 at Byker, Northumberland to James and Jane Harold. 1881 he was residing with his parents and siblings at 35 James’s Place, Byker. 1891 still with his parents and siblings at 24 Quality Row, Byker. 1911 residing with his wife a children at 18 Potter Street, Newcastle upon Tyne. Occupation, ship platers mate. Died in Malta 13 July 1917. His widow Elizabeth, nee Miller who he married 1905 in the registration district of Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland was granted a war gratuity 22 December 1917 revised 19 January 1919.


E. EA. A. 603 William John CLARKE, Gunner 277171 102nd Coy. Royal Garrison Artillery. Born 1869 in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria, resided in Belfast, enlisted at Carrickfergus, both in Ireland. 1895 he married Martha Teresa, nee McKnight. Died 13 July 1917. From Barrow in Furness. His widow was granted a war gratuity 9 January 1918, revised 19 February 1920, now called Martha Ritchie.
N.B. Headstone states date of death as 13 July 1915 which is incorrect, CWGC have been notified.

E. EA. A. 603. Angus MCLELLAN. Private 225620 10th Bn. Cameron Highlanders. Born 1876 at North Morar, Gleneig, Invernes-shire to Angus and Mary McLellan, nee McIntyre of 1 Mallaig Vail, Mallaig, Invernes-shire, Scotland. Previously resided with his parents and siblings 1881 at No16 Maiiaig, Vail. 1891 still with parents and siblings at No 10 Beoraid, Gleneig, occupation, agricultural labourer. 1901 still residing with his parents and a sister at Crofter House, Gleneig, occupation fisher, blacksmith. Died in Imtarfa Military Hospital, Malta 23 July 1917 aged 21 years. His father was granted a war gratuity 22 October 1917 revised 12 December 1919.
