William George JAMES. Poppy Cross has HMS India, 1915. It may be the following. Steward 732259, Mercantile Marine Reserve on HMS Clan McNaughton. Died at sea on the 3rd February 1915 aged 25. He was the son of Mary Ann Palmer (formerly James), of 83, Greenhhill Grove, Manor Park, London. He was, commemorated on a Poppy Cross on the W.W.1 War Memorial in the Garden of Remembrance, near the Holy Trinity Church, Stratford on Avon, and also commemorated on the Plymouth Naval Memorial, Devon
