JONES William Edward. D.S.M., late Royal Air Force who died on the 7th February 1926 after a long illness contracted while a prisoner of war in Turkey aged 40. He was born in the 1st May 1886 at Ruabon, Denbighshire

He is at rest in Stratford on Avon Cemetery, Warwickshire.

London Gazette dated 28th September 1917.
To receive the Distinguished Service Medal.
Air Mechanic, 1st Grade, William Edward Jones, O.N. 217874 (R.F.R., Ch./B5242) (prisoner of war), and others.
He was awarded the D.S.M. For services in reconnaissance and bombing flights in the Eastern Mediterranean. Flew in E8936
