William CAIRNS

Extended Description
William CAIRNS, died 21st June 1840 aged 49 days. Son of Mary Ann, nee Laven and William Cairns, Corporal, Royal Artillery. On the 3rd May 1842 his sister Elizabeth Ann also died aged 10 months. She was baptised 11 July 1841 by Reverend John Thomas Howe Le Mesurier,, Chaplain to the Forces, Malta. She is not mention on her brother's memorial, but may be at rest with him in Msida Bastion Cemetery, Floriana, Malta.

Letters of administration of the personal estate and effects of William Cairns od 2 Wood Street, Woolwich in the County of Kent a Quartermaster in the Royal Artillery who died 17th May 1867, (aged 55) at 2 Wood Street aforesaid were granted at the Principal Registry to Mary Ann Cairns of 3 Elwick Terrace, Plumstead in the County aforesaid Widow the Relict of the said deceased she having been first sworn.
