William BOLTON

BOLTON William, Private 59395, Royal Army Medical Corps died 22nd March 1918 aged 46. He was the husband of Annie of 6, Conlon Street, Belfast. He was born in County Antrim, and is at rest in Dundonald Cemetery, Dundonald, County Down.

He joined up on the 4th June 1915 and was posted to Aldershot, Hampshire on the 11th June 1915 aged39. into Royal Army Medical Corps. He gave his occupation occupation was a nurse and his next of kin his wife.
He had previously served 13 years with the Royal Irish Rifles as private 2297. He enlisted on the 3rd January 1888 and was posted to Egypt on the 8th March 1890 to 21st March 1891. Malta from the 23rd March 1891 to 17th November 1894, India 13th November 1894 to 31st January 1897. England 6th February 1897 to his discharged to the Army Reserve on the 7th February 1897. He was recalled to the colours on then 9th October 1899 under special Army Orders. On the 24th October 1899 he was sent to South Africa, (Boer War). On the 9th February 1901 he was discharged on termination of limited engagement to the army reserve. World War 1 had started and he was posted from Aldershot to France on the 27th May 1915 to the 26th November 1915 where he was transferred to the Edinburgh War Hospital, Bangour, Scotland suffering from chronic bronchitis. He was discharged for hospital on the 22nd February 1916. On the 4th October 1916 he was medically discharged to pension after a medical board found him unfit for war service under par 392 (XVI) King's Regulation. to his home at Hawsworthly Street, Belfast, previously 26, Forthingale Street, Belfast. In 1911 he was living with his wife at 29 Bradford Street, Belfast.
