William Alfred GILBERT, Sick Bay Attendant M38156 Royal Navy on HMS Egmont. Born 14th January 1906 at Ipswich, Suffolk enlisted 28th March 1929 on HMS Danae. Occupation prior to enlistment, laboratory assistant. Died 18th May 1930 aged 24 years at Royal Naval Hospital, Bighi, Malta from cerebrospinal meningitis. Only son of Herbert William and Alice Esther Gilbert. Served two years in foreign waters. Wills and Admin, Ancestry - His residence in England was 25 Roseberry Road, Ipswich died on date stated. His effects went to Herbert William Gilbert, mariner.
