SHALLCROSS Wilfred. Private 110474 Manchester Regiment died 14th November 1918 aged 18 at Kinmel Park Hospital, Kinmel Camp, near Abergele, Conway, North Wales. Son of Aaron and Hannah Shallcross of Hamletts Hollow, Norley, Warrington, His mother was granted a war gratuity on the 11th August 1919.
At rest in St Mary's churchyard, Weaverham, Cheshire
Solemn the drums thrill: Death august and royal
Sings sorrow up into immortal spheres.
There is music in the midst of desolation
And a glory that shines upon our tears.
