Elsie Gertrude ROSS. Matron CAMC. Station at Camp Hospital and Soldiers Convalescent Home, Toronto. She was admitted to the General Hospital, Toronto 20 February and died of pleuropneumonia 26 February 1916 aged 33. At rest in Avondale Cemetery, Stratford, Ontario, Canada.

Isabella ROSS, nee Clarkson. (Master of Arts) Nurse, Medical Auxiliary Service. Died on the sinking of evacuation ship S.S. Tanjong Pinang which was bombed and sunk by the Japanese 17 February 1942 in the Banka Straits off the east coast of Sumatra. She did not survive the bombing, aged 52

Passenger on evacuation ship Vyner Brook which was sunk by Japanese air bombardment 14 February 1942 she survived that sinking and was rescued by S S Kuala which was also sunk the same day she did not survive. She was aged aged 31. Commemorated on the Singapore Memorial, Singapore.

Florence Nightingale SHORE. 2 Res/S907. Nursing Sister QAIMNSR.
About the 12 January 1920 she was violently assaulted on a train and left for dead. She was found and admitted into East Sussex Hospital Hastings. 16th January she passed away in the hospital aged 55. Her funeral was Tuesday 20 January 1920 at 2-30pm at St Saviours Church, The Grove, Ealing, Middlesex from there to the Westminster Cemetery, Hanwell.

She was on S.S. Tanjong Pinang which was bombed and sunk by the Japanese in the Banka Straits off the east coast of Sumtra. She did not survive aged 44.

Diana Evelyn STAFFORD, nee Jacques. Nurse, VAD at Singapore Hospital. Died on evacuation ship S.S. Tanjong Pinang which was bombed and sunk by the Japanese17 February 1942 aged 25. Commemorated in a Book of Remembrance in St. George's Chapel in Westminster Abbey, London.

Mary Florence STAFFORD. Staff Nurse AANS attached to 1st Australian General Hospital. She died of leukemia in Torrens Park, South Australia 20 March 1919 aged 27.

Margaret Brown STALKER. Nursing Sister 1stRes/S1326 QAIMNSR
1915 joined the QAIMNS. Died 18 January 1921 aged 34. At rest Comrie Cemetery, Perthshire

Alice May STALLARD. Nurse BRCS, VAD. 1st Southern General Hospital, Birmingham University, Birmingham. Died of broncho pneumonia 14 July 1918 aged 25. At rest in SS. Philip And James Churchyard, Hallow Worcestershire

Anna Irene STAMERS. Sister CAMC. Hospital Ship Llandovery Castle. Died 27 June 1918 aged 30 on the sinking of Hospital Ship Llandovery Castle. Commemorated on the Halifax Memorial, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Ada STANLEY. Staff Nurse TFNS. Died of typhus the Royal Victoria Hospital, or Netley Hospital, Southampton 22 December 1915 aged 46, At rest in St Paul Churchyard, Armitage, Yorkshire.

Winifred STARLING. Nursing Sister 2ndRes/S148 QAIMNS of New Zealand Hospital, Walton-On-Thames, Surrey. Died on board on Board the Royal Mail Ship, Leinster which sunk by a German U-Boat in the Irish Sea 10 October 1918

Eva STAUNTON. Matron M.A.S. Died at sea on SS Kuala 14 February 1942 aged 48. SS Kula is her grave.

Gertrude Annie STEPHENSON. Sister QAIMNSR died 5 March 1918 aged 42

Esther Sarah Jean STEWART. Nursing Sister (Lieutenant) NFX70936 AANS attached to 10th Australian General Hospital. Taken prisoner of war by the Japanese. On the 16 February 1942 the nurses were ordered to march into the sea and stand in a row where they were shot from behind. She was aged 37.

Kathleen Sinclair STEWART. Matron TFNS. Died at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Hound, Hampshire, 18 October 1918 aged 38.
