The following information by courtsy on the London Gazette
2nd Lt. Sidney Walters, South Staffordshire Regiment attached to the 1/6th
For conspicuous courage in action on 29th September, 1918, in the operations near
Bellenglise. With a few men he attacked an enemy machine-gun which was holding the
troops on his flank. He rushed the post and turned the gun on the retreating enemy.
Throughout the operations he led his platoon with great clash and coolness.

2nd Lt. Sydney Evelyn Walters, 9th attached to the 3rd, Tank Corps.
During the action near Mormal Forest on 4th November, 1918, he reconnoitred and
taped routes through' most difficult country prior to the attack. In the attack he led his
Tanks with great coolness and judgment through heavy shelling, up to their
jumping-off place, and ensured their starting at zero an complete touch with their infantry.
Throughout he displayed complete disregard of personal danger and devotion
to duty.
