Recreated F6F Hellcat fighter as was flown by Air Group 27 of the USS Princeton, CVL-23. The carrier was attacked & sunk on October 24-25, 1944, during the opening stages of the Battle of Leyte Gulf. An uncle of mine was a flight deck crewman on this carrier and was rescued by the crew of the USS Birmingham. The Battle of Leyte Gulf was the largest naval battle ever fought.
