US female Marine with pistol

What a marvelous image. However, I must correct the posted title. The female shown is no "soldier". Rather, she is a United States Marine as evidenced by the Eagle Globe & Anchor insignia on her hat and the partially obscured USMC marking on her HBT blouse. Marines are justifiably proud of being Marines and can get irritable when they are confused with soldiers, and you don't want to irritate a US Marine unnecessarily.

Her pistol is interesting as well. It is either a Colt Service Model Ace in .22LR or a M1911 pistol with a .22LR conversion kit installed. Hard to tell from the angle shown, but my bet would be an early war SM ACE given what appears to be a blued finish as distinguished from the later Dulite finish.

Was there no caption or other identifying information with this image?

Thanks for posting it. I like it!

Regards,
Charlie

@ordnanceguy Thanks for the heads up about this pic. I am afraid I know nothing more about it and my usual methods of gaining info about a photo have failed so far, glad you like it though and I agree lets not piss of the Marines

Oh and I have changed the title
