TOMPSON Frank Meredith

TOMPSON Frank Meredith, Private 26681, 6th Seaforth Highlanders, Student at Mirfield Theological College and Altar server with this church. He was killed in action near Arras on Easter Monday, 9th April 1917 aged 20 years. He was the son of John Meredith and Kate Mary of the Parsonage, Braunstone, Leicestershire. In 1911 the family were all living at 58, Regent Road, Leicester. (The two memorials, removed from St George's Church are placed her at the desire of Gordon Charles. Tompson, brother of Frank M Tompson. In childhood they were choristers together of St Martins. Dated August 1983.
He is commemorated on a memorial in St Martin's Church Cathedral, leicester City. and he is at rest in Highland Cemetery, Roclincourt, France

This memorial along with the memorial of (A E Chambers) was removed from St George's Church Leicester and was placed here (Leicester Cathedral) at the desire of Gordon C Tompson brother of Frank M Tompson. In child hood they were choristers together of St Martin's
