Corporal Tom PHIPPS 6th Gloucestershire (South Gloucester) Bn. Home Guard
Died 27 February 1941 aged 31 whilst on duty at Yate when Parnall Aircraft factory in Yate, South Gloucestershire was hit, the first of eight days bombing by the Luftwaffe.
Son of Thomas and Mabel Dawben Phipps nee Inder. In 1911 he was residing with his parents and siblings at Kings Grove, Old Sodbury, Gloucestershire.
Wills and Admin. Resided at Kingrove Cottage, Old Sodbury, Gloucestershire. Died on date stated at Yate, Gloucestershire. His effects went to his mother Mable Phipps, £854.0s.8d
At rest at Old Sodbury St John the Baptist Churchyard, Gloucestershire.
