Thomas Peter TAYLOR. Gunner 872938, 7th Heavy Anti Aircraft Regiment, Royal Artillery, son of Albert Edward and Margaret Taylor, Liverpool. Died 11th June 1940 aged 20. At rest in Pembroke Military Cemetery, Malta. P1/R4/G3

John Henry SLADE. Private 7342748, 2nd Devonshire Regiment. Native of Exeter, Devon. He was injured on the 13 June 1940 during an air raid and was treated at Advance Dressing Station Tarxien and evacuated to Mtarfa hospital, where he died of his injuries the same day. At rest in Pembroke Military Cemetery, Malta. P1/R4/G3

Ronald John Percy FROST. Private 5619814, 2nd Devonshire Regiment. Died 8th October 1940. He was born on the 17th May 1914 to John James Frost, soldier and Sarah Marchant who were married at Preston Parish Church, Brighton on the 23rd August 1913. His father joined the 14th Royal Sussex Regiment aged 31 and 5 months on the 8th July 1915 discharged on the 4th February 1916 to his family at 38 Argyll Road, Brighton. He was private 3865. At rest in Pembroke Military Cemetery, Malta. P1/R4/G3

Gnr Thomas Peter TAYLOR was one of the first casualties of the war.

Italy declared war at midnight 10 June 1940.

The first air raid warning in Malta sounded at 06:50 11 June 1940, with Hal Far being bombed at 06:55.

Gnr Taylor was killed during the bombing of Corradino Gun position by the Italian Regia Aeronautica on the first day following Italy entering the war.
