PENDLEBURY, Thomas. Private 16226, 6th South Lancashire Regiment died 28/12/1915. He was born at Astley is at rest in Leigh Cemetery, both in Lancashire. Some notes from what remains of his army record. He joined up on the 30th December 1914 at Atherton, Lancashire aged 19 and 191 days. He lived with his parents Thomas and Sarah and his siblings at 122 High Green, Astley. Prior to enlistment he was employed as a collier. He was posted to the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force on the 27th July 1915 and returned to England of 19th September 1915. He died at home suffering from Post Dysenteric toxemia (syncope).
