Son of William and Elizabeth Stanley of The Bank, Acton Trussell near Stafford, Staffordshire. Commemorated on his mother's memorial at St James the Great churchyard, Acton Trussell, Staffordshire and is buried at Wimereux Communal Cemetery, France
