Private 2223, 37th Australian Infantry [A.I.F] died of wounds received in the battle of Ypres 27th October 1917 aged 29. Son of george & Susannah of Church Broughton. Commemorated on his brother [Harry] memorial at St Michael & All Angels, churchyard, Church Broughton, Derbyshire and is buried at Boulogne Eastern Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France
