Thomas Boycott, Esquire of Rudge, Shipley and Boycott, County Salop and formerly of Hinton in the parish. Born 8th June 1771 and died 24th April 1856.
He served as Captain in the Ancient British Fencible Regt during the Irish Rebellion and was dangerously wounded 4th June 1798. He was afterwards Lt, Col of the Whitchurch Volunteers till disbanded in 1814. His remain lie in a vault beneath
This memorial is situated in St Alkmund's the parish church of Whitchurch, Shropshire
