Private 4537898 Edward George William ALLEN, Royal Army Ordnance Corps, attached to 18th Division. He was born on the 22nd April 1921 and lived at 14, Greenwood Road, Snienton Dale, Nottingham. He enlisted on the 6th August 1937 and was captured at Singapore on the 15th February 1942. He was in the following camps.
Chunki, 25th October 1942. Camp Leader, Colonel Williams, Block Leader, Captain Lambert.
Canburi, 20th February 1943. Camp Leader, Colonel McFarlan
Takunuah no date, it would have been in 1943. Camp Leader, Colonel Williams, Block Leader, Major Beaver.
He is commemorated on a paviour beside the Far Eastern Prisoner of War Memorial Building, at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire.
