Private 40382, Thomas SUMMERFIELD, 2nd South Lancashire Regiment and son of John and Emily Ann died of wounds received in action in France on the 9th October 1918 aged 22. he is commemorated on his parents memorial in St Peter's extended churchyard, Congleton, Cheshire and is buried in La Kreule Military Cemetery, Hazebrouck, Nord France
