Private 24668399 Stephen McKINNEY. 2nd County Armagh Battalion. Shot by two PIRA gunmen, early Sunday 25 September 1988. He was returning home from duty with the Ulster Defence Regiment when he was caught in a hail of more than 40 bullets between his car and his rural home outside at Cabragh off Loughall Road, Armagh, He died on his way to hospital at 1 a.m. aged 22. The gunmen escaped across nearby fields.
