Just looked at the exif info, if the shutter speed is the same as the exposure time? then it was 1/3200 sec.
Is that bad?. I had the camera set to auto because I wasnt confident that I would get it right.
Thats ok, at that speed it stops all movement. If you get the shutter speed down, you will start getting some movement, say in the blades.
Like all systems, it takes time and testing getting the right settings.
Its funny you should mention that, I thought the picture looked a little Odd with the blades stopped like that. So if I was to set the shutter speed down a little I would see movement in the blades but it wouldnt affect the rest of the picture ?.
Thanks Matzos, any pointers will get me on the right track and are much appreciated.
Its a fine balance in getting the right shutter speed to get the feeling of movement and keeping a sharp image. There are days when after 29 years doing the job I still get it wrong
Not had a lot of practice really, been busy at work.
I want to get stuck into some armour shots. A hell of a lot of people take pics of aircraft which is a great thing but my thing is heavy metal, and I dont mean my taste in music. I have a contact who might ....be able to get me where the action is.
Best thing is I wont have to worry about bloody propeller movement.....
Nightstalker - thanks for your positive comments, your right it does take a lot of experimenting solthum
