Slice of a tree trunk. WW 2 Casuality

Slice of a tree trunk which was on display in the B.T.S. Exhibition Building Centre, Bond Street, London, when the building was damaged by enemy action on October 1914 and May 1941. It was salvaged from the debris. It is now on display in the reception of the Salford Hall Hotel, Abbots Salford, Worcestershire.

The trunk spans 300 years. I was growing when in, 1605, Gunpowder plot, 1616 Death of William Shakespear, 1642, Battle of Worcester, 1666, Fire of London, 1707, Act of Union passed by the Scottish Parliament, 1746, Battle of Culloden, 1789, French Revolution, 1805, Trafalgar, 1837, Accession of Queen Victoria, 1857, Indian Mutiny and 1899 Boer War
