Sidney James DAWE, Born in 1880 at Shoeburyness, Essex, son of Julia (nee WATTS) and William James Dawe, Master Gunner, Royal Artillery, died 22nd December 1885, aged 4 years.

At rest in Plot 1 Row 2 Grave 17 Pieta Military Cemetery, Malta.

1881 census shows William James Dawe, Sergeant Major, Royal Artillery living at Shoeburyness Garrison, South Shoenuryness, Essex with his wife Julia nee Watts who he married in 1877 at Woolwich. (She was born at Somerton, Somerset.) and his two children, one being Sidney James born in 1880 died 1885 in Malta.
1911 census shows that he is living with his wife, Julia, at 58 Shrewsbury Villas, Plum Lane, Plumstead, London occupation, steel tester. He was testing the strength of steel for gum manufacture for the Royal Arsenal, Woolwich. He died on the 18th June 1914 at Guy's Hospital, Surrey. His home address was 58 Shrewsbury Villas, and his widow, Julia received his effects.
