SdKfz 140/1 (Aufklärungspanzer 38(t))
In early 1943 an attempt was made to use the 38(t) chassis as a scout car. SdKfz 140/1’s were attached to scout platoons in their dual role of scout/anti air. Armed with only a single 20mm and an MG, this was not the most capable fighter and of the 40 that were built, only 1 exists today. Some speculation exists that the biggest reason only 40 were built is that the chassis was being used at the time for the Hetzer. http://project38.net/variants/
