Isla de Cuba, a 1030-ton Isla de Luzon class cruiser, was launched at Newcastle-on-Tyne, England, in December 1886. During the Spanish-American War, she was part of the Spanish squadron in the Philippines and was sunk in the Battle of Manila Bay on 1 May 1898. Salvaged by the U.S. Navy after the war, she was commissioned as USS Isla de Cuba in 1900. In 1912, she was sold to Venezuela and served as their navy's Mariscal Sucre until 1940, when she was scrapped. https://www.ibiblio.org/hyperwar/OnlineLibrary/photos/sh-fornv/spain/spsh-hl/is-cuba.htm
